Poor Clematis Henryi

Well, this little guy (left) sure is taking a long time to grow!  I *think* this is another Clematis Henryi  that started growing after the main stems died.  I wonder if it really is a Clematis?!

Should I take him out and put him in a pot and see what happens?  I am a bit discouraged by the lack of growth here!

I finally looked up the 5-leaved plant on the right…  I think it may be a Virginia Creeper… but the leaves sure look pointy…

Anyone know?
