This past weekend, Homestead Gardens had their Crepe Myrtle Festival. A very kind friend gave us tons of “Myrtle Bucks”! During the year, Homestead hands out the Myrtle Bucks with every purchase to be used during this time. You can only use them for half the purchase price.

Homestead is a bit pricey compared to other nurseries, but the quality seems better.

So, I was conflicted in buying because of our budget… But at essentially half off, I think I made out….

I am hoping that in a few years this Myrtle will provide a pretty contrast against the tree in the background….

Ran out of mulch! Need to get some! Got it planted just in time for non-stop rain this week!
